This year we wanted to include the children, as well as the staff in a (Safety Week preamble to NAOSH WEEK. We took the whole week to teach the children about safety at daycare and at home, the children coloured NAOSH logos, and created pictures of their mommy's and daddy's being safe at work; we posted safety posters, and info sheets for our parents, and the end of the week we created a (mini 1km) Steps for Life Walk in our community to teach the children about street safety. We are also walking in honour of a City of Ottawa Employee who once did maintenance work at our childcare center, and recently passed away while on the job.
